Today's TSAHC rates: program rates change every business day, so I do not post a rate here that could be out of date. Tap Get today's rate and I will send you today's rate personally, or see the TSAHC Daily Interest Rates page for the current chart. Your rate depends on the loan type, your credit, and the assistance option you choose.

FAQ

Texas TSAHC Program FAQs

Who counts as a Texas Hero?

TSAHC lists full-time public K-12 educators and school staff such as teacher aides, librarians, counselors, and nurses, plus peace officers, fire fighters, EMS personnel, corrections and juvenile corrections officers, county jailers, public security officers, nursing and allied health faculty, and veterans. Exact definitions are on TSAHC's site.

Do I have to be a first-time buyer?

Not for the down payment assistance. Both programs serve first-time and repeat buyers. TSAHC's MCC is for first-time buyers, qualified veterans, and homes in targeted areas.

Is the assistance a grant?

You can choose a grant that never has to be repaid, or a forgivable second lien loan that is forgiven after three years if you do not sell, refinance, or move out during that time. Rates differ by option.

Does TSAHC post daily rates?

Yes. TSAHC publishes Daily Interest Rates with an effective date. I link to that page instead of copying the numbers, so you always see the current chart.

Is the TSAHC MCC the same as the Pima County MCC?

No. TSAHC's MCC credit rate is 15%, and you can pair TSAHC down payment assistance with their MCC. TSAHC no longer offers a stand-alone MCC. Program rules and eligibility apply.
